What is HERE, you may be asking? Well, the magazine of course, silly! The Quilting Arts Holiday Gifts issue hit newstands while I was in Florida at the Janome conference. We have lots of copies in the shop, so get yours with us, and if you play your cards right, I might even autograph it for you (wink, wink!)
The magazine has alot of nice projects in it, mine not withstanding, so it is a great issue to pick up. We didn’t make the cover, but are on page 66 and 67. Here is a picture of the cover, and a picture of page 66. Notice the nice size type that says “by Patti Dockus” in the lower left corner? I am so excited!!
So, come on by and get your copy now! We even have some kits available for the runner. Unfortunately, I do not have a sample in the store. The runner was actually made for Troy Fabric and it belongs to them, so I do not have it and have not had time to finish making another one!!
As I said above, I just got back from the Janome Institue and training in Florida. The new MC 12000 machine was unveiled! It is fabulous, to say the least! I just got my machine shipped to me yesterday, so will be playing with it over thenext couple of weeks for our Launch and Grand Unveiling on Oct 1. Nobody gets to see the machine before Oct 1! I can tell you it has 4 hoops, with the largest being about 9 x 12! Hoorah! Finally, a bigger hoop! It is also a magnet hoop, so it is easy to use! It has the styling of the Horizon 7700 – so a long 11″ arm on the right of the needle, and 5″ to the left of the needle! Huge bed! There is also a new software that comes with the machine to be able to edit all your embroidery designs and create your own stitches on your computer that is attached to the sewing machine. This will all be demo’d at the launch also. It has some other really neat features, but you will just need to come to the launch on Oct 1 to see them!! Do not miss it!
Here is a pic of the new machine I took at Institue….
There is also a new version of Digitizer that makes creating or modifying embroidery designs a piece of cake! It actually incorporates Coral Draw and Photo within the software so you can now do art work transfers with embroidery on top! Really COOL stuff! You can look at Janome’s website for some info on the new beauty also at janome.com. Scroll down to the entries for 9/12 and further to 9/6 to see more details!
Well, as usuall, I am all out of time. I will show you one more photo overlooking the pool area at the Marriott resort in Orlando that the Janome Institute was held at. It is TOUGH working in these conditions!
Well, I am off the the shop. Oh, a note, we have a bus group coming into the shop today around 2:oo pm. There are 35 on the bus, so it will be a little crowded for a awhile this afternoon. If you are planning on stopping by today, you might want to do so in the morning, or this evening to avoid the chaos that is bound to ensue!!
Patti
