Great New Fabric in the Shop!

Hi Everyone!

I didn’t realize how long it has been since I last blogged.  Sorry!!  I know many of you have told me how much you enjoy the blog.  I do my best!  It has just been a busy time for me.  Well, I just got back from Quilt Market in Salt Lake City!  What a blast!  I have lots to tell you about what is coming, what went on there, and what I saw, but, that will have to wait!  I need to organize my thoughts a little about market, so stay tuned on that subject!

Today, I want to show off the fabrics we got in just before I left for market!  We also got about 200 bolts of stuff in yesterday, and that too will have to wait a minute because there is too much stuff to talk about in this one blog space!

So, about the fabric we got in earlier in May….

We started getting our Winter fabrics.  First group in is Winterberry Lane from Whimsicals for Red Rooster.  I call these the melty snowmen!  Winterberry is just great snowmen in soft understated colors.  There is a great panel, and and even better pattern for using the panel that creates 4 separate wall-hangings.  These would be perfect for giving as gifts, or to create your own snowman collage for the winter!  There is a book, and another full size quilt pattern also available that support this fabric.  Take a look at the pictures, and tell me you don’t like this!!  I got the entire line, so all the coordinates are also available!

We also received On a Whim 2 from Robert Kaufman.  We look these great colors and little animals for great kids quilts and decorating!  Perfect for either boys or girls, this time, the panel features forest friends and there are cute squirrels, owls, foxes, etc.  Colors are earthy, so very gender neutral, or as I like to say, non-denominational!  Here are the pics…

Then, the most fabulous of all!!  We got some of Editya Sitar’s new line called Sweet Sixteen from Moda.  For those of you who are not familiar, Editya is the designer of Laundry Basket Quilts.  She is a prolific pattern, book and fabric designer.  We have carried her patterns since the day we opened!  Well, she has done it again!  This time, she has another like of fabrics where she combines batiks with more traditional fabrics.    The results are absolutely stunning!  We are kitting up her Sweet Sixteen fabrics for her Feather Star and it is just beautiful!  I made one block, and you can see just what I mean.  The whole quilt just repeats this block, so once you have it, you have it!  Her directions are very good, and the star went together very well.  You can see the kit already wrapped up with pretty aqua ribbon right in front of the star!  These will not last long, so please hurry in to secure yours!    I am also going to be offering a class this summer on this pattern, so if that helps, keep it in mind!

Finally, we also received some additional Patriotic fabric from Red Rooster.  It too is quite great, and I will post pics the next blog.

That is all I have time for today, so stay tuned!  I have lots more to share with you!    Have a great day, and happy quilting!
